The BAFTA Games Awards 2025 celebrated the pinnacle of creativity and innovation in the video game industry, with a dazzling ceremony held in London. This year, Astro Bot emerged as the undisputed champion, securing an impressive five prestigious awards, including the highly coveted Best Game. The delightful PlayStation 5 platformer also triumphed in the Animation, Audio Achievement, Family, and Game Design categories, showcasing its exceptional quality across multiple facets of game development.
However, Astro Bot wasn’t the only star of the night. Still Wakes the Deep, the atmospheric horror game from The Chinese Room, also garnered significant recognition, taking home three awards, including both Performer in a Leading Role (for Alec Newman) and Performer in a Supporting Role (for Karen Dunbar), as well as the award for Best New Intellectual Property.
The popular cooperative shooter Helldivers 2 also enjoyed a successful evening, winning two BAFTAs for Best Multiplayer and Best Music. Other notable winners included Thank Goodness You’re Here! for Best British Game, Balatro for Best Debut Game, and Vampire Survivors for Best Evolving Game. The prestigious BAFTA Fellowship was awarded to the renowned pianist and composer Yoko Shimomura, celebrated for her iconic work on the Kingdom Hearts, Xenoblade, and Final Fantasy series.
