Fishing Progression
For crafting the next tier of fishing tools, you have to reach level 10. However, if you just need a new fishing pole that is more durable and has higher speed, head to a fishing station and craft Novice fishing pole.

As nodes develop and crafting stations improve, players can craft higher-tier tools like the Apprentice Fishing Pole. This tool lets you catch better fish like salmon.
To craft and use the Apprentice Fishing Pole, you must first reach level 10 in fishing. After that, visit the Fishing NPC to upgrade your artisan skill certificate. Once you receive the new certificate, you can use the new fishing pole recipe. It will automatically replace your current pole. This allows you to start catching a wider variety of fish right away.
