As you start your new life in Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar, you’ll quickly learn that success is all about revitalizing the town’s famous market. While crops and animals are the heart of your farm, one simple item holds a strategic power that can completely change your game: Honey.
This guide provides the most comprehensive roadmap to getting honey and, more importantly, using it to your advantage.

The Main Ways to Get Honey
There are two primary methods to get your hands on this liquid gold in Zephyr Town.
Method 1: Foraging for Honeycomb
This is the easiest and most immediate way to find honey, available from your very first day.
- Locations: You can find Honeycomb on the ground in your Farm Area, the Waterfall Area, and near the Hotel.
- Seasons: Honeycomb appears in Spring, Fall, and Winter, but never in Summer. Be sure to stockpile it when you can!
- Pro Tip: Forageable items can respawn around 5:00 PM. If you leave and re enter an area after this time, you can often collect resources twice in one day.

Method 2: Starting a Bee Farm (Beekeeping)
This is the sustainable, long term method for producing honey in large quantities. Unlocking it requires a few key steps.
Step 1: Complete Arata’s “Prepping for Some Heavy Lifting” Request
To build a bee farm, you first need to unlock a new vendor named Arata. You can find him training in the mountains, and he’ll give you a request called “Prepping for Some Heavy Lifting.”
To complete his request, you must bring him the following two items:
- 1 x Egg Over Rice
- 1 x Grilled Fish
Crucial Tip: 1 Star Quality is Required! This is the part that trips up most players. Both dishes must be at least 1 star quality. The food you cook with default, 0.5 star ingredients won’t be good enough. To raise the quality of your ingredients (like fish), you need to gift them to the Happy Sprites.
Step 2: Buy and Build the Beehouse
After you complete Arata’s request, he will set up a stall at the next bazaar. Speak to him there and purchase the Beehouse for 10,000G. He will build it for you during the following week in the top right corner of the mountain area.
Step 3: Plant Flowers and Harvest Honeycomb
Your new Beehouse won’t produce anything on its own. You need to plant flowers in the small plot of land next to it.
- Use Fully Grown Flowers: You cannot plant seeds here. You must plant flowers that have already fully grown on your farm.
- Harvest Time: After planting the flowers, it will take about 3 days for the Beehouse to start sparkling. Interact with the sparkling hive to harvest your Honeycomb.

Processing and Advanced Honey Strategies
Now that you have Honeycomb, it’s time to unlock its true potential.
Turning Honeycomb into Honey at the Windmill
Raw Honeycomb doesn’t sell for much and can’t be used in most recipes. To increase its value, take it to the Blue Windmill to process it into Honey.
The First Year Secret: The Honey Day Festival Strategy
This is the most powerful strategy in this guide. On Spring 21, the town celebrates the “Honey Day” festival. This day offers a unique opportunity to boost your friendship with every single villager.
- The Special Mechanic: On Honey Day, giving any honey related item (Honeycomb, Honey, Honey Cake) does not count as your one gift for the day.
- The Double Gift Strategy: This means you can give every person two gifts in one day: one honey gift for the festival, plus one of their regular favorite items.
- The Power of Honey Cake: In your first year, Mayor Felix gives you the recipe for Honey Cake. Gifting this on Honey Day provides a massive friendship boost. By combining the Honey Cake with a second gift, you can skyrocket your relationships with everyone, including marriage candidates, in a single day. How to Permanently Increase Your Honey Quality
In the mountain area, you’ll find a Happy Sprite named “Honey”. By gifting her Honey or Honeycomb, you will permanently increase the base star quality of all future honey you produce.
- Pro Tip: Gifting processed Honey will raise her friendship faster than gifting raw Honeycomb, helping you improve your quality much quicker.
Maximizing Your Profits at the Bazaar
- Always Process First: Processed Honey sells for significantly more than raw Honeycomb.
- Sell at the Bazaar: Never sell your items to Raul’s shop. You will get a much higher price at your own bazaar stall, which is essential for progressing in the game.
