How to Unlock Phoenix (Jean Grey)
Phoenix is the first hidden hero you can add to your team. You will find her about midway through the main story. You must play until you reach the “Full Moon of the Insectoids” mission. This level is also called “Blue Area of the Moon” (Mission 6 or 7).
She is the final boss of this stage. The fight can be tricky, but just focus on learning her patterns. She is a Flying, Psychic, Fire type character and is very powerful. Defeat her in this boss battle. Phoenix will join your team right after you complete the mission.
How to Unlock Venom
The next hero you can find is Venom. He is locked behind “The Flying Menagerie” mission. You might also see this stage called “Destromundo” (Mission 8 or 9). This mission comes shortly after you unlock Phoenix. Venom acts as the final boss of this level. This boss fight is one of the harder ones. He is a Brawler type and hits very hard.
Venom Boss Tip: A good strategy is to use a character with a counter-attack, like She-Hulk or Captain America. Cap is a great choice because he also has a projectile attack. Beat Venom at the end of the stage, and he will become a playable hero.
How to Unlock Phyla-Vell
You have to wait a bit longer to get Phyla-Vell. She is an important character in the story. You will find her in “The Kree/Bugs War” mission. This stage is also known as “Hala” (Mission 10 or 11).
She is the boss you must fight to finish the level. Phyla-Vell is a Melee type hero. She is unique because she is the only character who uses a sword. Win the fight, and she joins your team.
How to Unlock Silver Surfer
The last of the Marvel Cosmic Invasion unlockable characters is the Silver Surfer. You get him very late in the game, so it takes time. You must play until the “Free the Eater of Worlds” mission. Using Unlocked Heroes in Arcade Mode
The good news is that every character you unlock is available everywhere. As soon as you beat a hero in the campaign, they are added to your team. This means you can use them in Story Mode. They are also immediately available in Arcade Mode.
Why You Should Play As Every Hero
You might find a favorite hero and stick with them. But the game gives you good reasons to play as everyone.
The biggest reasons are achievements. There are achievements for using each hero’s special abilities. There is even one for beating the whole game with every single character.
