The job system is different from the first two games, but it’s still similar to the mobile version and earlier titles from Square Enix. As I’ve mentioned above, the job system in this game is different. This time around, you only control one main character, not a group of eight. Your protagonist is the only one who can freely change jobs as the story goes on. When you start the game, you create your hero by choosing their look, background, etc.
In OCTOPATH TRAVELER 0 there are a total of 18 job classes. These are divided into two distinct categories. 8 jobs that can be unlocked by the protagonist and 10 jobs that are exclusive to specific characters within the game.

Protagonist Jobs
There are 8 distinct jobs available to the protagonist. While the protagonist can switch between these classes, specific party members are also associated with each job type.

How to Change Jobs in OCTOPATH TRAVELER 0
Unlike previous entries in the series, OCTOPATH TRAVELER 0 only allows the protagonist to change their job class. All other party members have fixed jobs.
To change the protagonist’s job, navigate to the Skills Menu and select Protagonist’s Jobs. You can switch to a new job provided you have unlocked enough Battle Skills for one of your existing jobs. Unlocking these skills requires JP (Job Points). You can acquire them through random encounters.
Best Jobs in OCTOPATH TRAVELER 0
Warrior and Hunter are best jobs in OCTOPATH TRAVELER 0. Period. The reasons being with Warrior you can
- Make it through tough fights.
- Have high physical damage output.
- Have access to a lot of good skills and abilities early in the game.
Hunter is no exception:
- You can exploit your enemy’s weaknesses.
- You’re agile and versatile.
- You can access Rain of Arrows skill early in the game.
- Your ranged attacks are exceptionally powerful.
