What Every Hero Needs to Know
Before you pick your champion, every player needs to understand a few core mechanics that define the game.

The Holy Trinity: Tank, Healer, DPS
Fellowship is built around the classic four person dungeon party. Every team needs one of each of these roles to succeed:
- Tank: The frontline leader. Their job is to grab the attention of all enemies (aggro) and soak up damage.
- Healer: The backbone of the group. They keep the Tank and the rest of the party alive.
- DPS (Damage Per Second): The muscle. You get two of these, and their job is to eliminate threats as quickly as possible.
The Interrupt System is Your Best Friend
One of the coolest features in Fellowship is its smart interrupt system. You can set a keybind to “mark” an enemy you intend to interrupt. This shows your hero’s icon by that enemy’s health bar, telling your teammates your intention and your interrupt’s cooldown. This is the system that stops you and three strangers from all blowing your interrupts on the same trash mob. Use it. Please.
Quickplay First, Ranked Later
When you start a new hero, they only have a fraction of their abilities unlocked. Always start in Quickplay. This low stress mode is where you’ll run dungeons to unlock your full kit and earn tokens for a basic gear set. Plan on running about 5-8 Quickplay dungeons before you’re truly ready for the competitive Ranked mode.
The Heroes of Fellowship
Let’s look at the unique mechanics of the heroes in each role.
The Tanks in Fellowship
Helena, the Warmaster (Difficulty: 2/5): Helena is a classic “sword and board” tank. Her entire playstyle revolves around a unique resource called Toughness. The fuller her Toughness bar, the less damage she takes. Her abilities focus on generating Toughness and using her shield to block big hits. She provides a steady and predictable flow of incoming damage for her healer to manage.

Meiko, the Twin Soul (Difficulty: 4/5): Meiko is a high skill, agile monk style tank who survives through self healing. Her gameplay is a complex dance of stringing together three different basic attacks to unleash powerful finishing moves, many of which heal her for a portion of the damage dealt. This results in a spikier health bar that can be more challenging for healers to manage.

The Healers in Fellowship
Sylvie, Daughter of the Forest (Difficulty: 3/5): Sylvie is a proactive healer. Her playstyle revolves around applying Heal over Time (HoT) effects to her allies before the damage comes in. She also commands pets and explosive mushrooms, meaning a good portion of her gameplay is dedicated to dealing damage to fuel her healing.

Vigour, the Light Shaper (Difficulty: 2/5): Vigour is a reactive healer. He specializes in powerful, direct burst heals and protective shields to save allies after they’ve taken a big hit. His core mechanic involves generating “Radiant Runes” with basic abilities and then spending them on massive, impactful heals.

How Each Hero Deals Damage
| Hero Name | Damage Profile | Core Mechanic |
|---|---|---|
| Mara | Single Target Burst | Generates Combo Points with builder abilities, then spends them with powerful finisher moves. |
| Tariq | Sustained Damage | Weaves abilities between auto attacks to maintain a high damage uptime. |
| Rime | Area of Effect (AoE) Burst | Builds a resource called Anima to create Winter Orbs, which are then spent on massive AoE spells. |
| Ardeos | Area of Effect (AoE) Ramp | Stacks multiple Damage over Time (DoT) effects on enemies, then uses Detonate to cause a huge explosion. |
| Elarion | Sustained Mobile Damage | The only ranged DPS who can use most of his abilities while moving, making his damage uptime incredibly consistent. |
