What you will read here:
What Is Ball x Pit?
As I’ve mentioned above, you have to survive the monsters and get the right ball for the job. The main objective on any run is to survive the waves of monsters until you get to the final boss, defeat it and then finish the run. Your goal is to keep the monsters away from getting close enough to damage you. As you defeat them, you’ll collect XP orbs along the way in order to get new balls and other resources to help you on your run. There are also 63 achievements in the game if you want to take a look at them and maybe how to unlock all of them here’s our BALL x PIT achievements guide alongside our our BALL x PIT Nosferatu guide if you’re struggling with that achievement.
Evolution and Fusion
This is probably the most important mechanic. There are ways to combine your max level balls and they do very different things.
- Evolution: This is when you combine two specific level 3 balls to create a brand new more powerful ball. For example, a level 3 Fire ball + a level 3 Ice ball gets you the awesome Frozen Flame ball. Another one is combining the vertical and horizontal Laser balls to get a Holy Laser ball that fires both ways. You can’t make Ball x Pit Evolution balls out of everything so have fun experimenting with other Ball x Pit combos.
- Fusion: This is different. Fusing just combines two level 3 balls into a single one. If you fuse a ball that has a cooldown with one that doesn’t, the entire new fused ball will get that cooldown. Trust me, fusing one of your most used balls with something that has a long cooldown can absolutely ruin your run. Don’t just fuse things randomly.
Pro tip: Don’t forget to check the in-game Ball x PIT encyclopedia from the main menu to track the balls. It works like a Ball x Pit wiki of some sorts.

Best Time to Pick Up an Upgrade
You see an upgrade on the ground and your first thought is to pick that up, right? Hold on. If you pick up that upgrade but don’t have two balls at level 3 ready to combine, you’ll be forced to take the fishing option. Fishing just randomly levels up your balls and items. It’s pure RNG. Might give you the best or the worst and it’s a total waste of a guaranteed evolution.
Pro tip: So if you see an upgrade and one of your balls is already at max level and the other one is almost at level 3, just leave it on the ground. Go kill a few more monsters. Get that last level up and then go back and grab the upgrade. In this way you get to choose your powerful evolution instead of leaving it to chance.
Adapt Your Build to Your Character
This might seem obvious but it’s key. You have to learn how to adapt your Ball x Pit builds to whatever character you’re playing as. Pay attention to their stats and their unique ability.
- Stats: Got a character with a high Intelligence stat? Focus on AOE (Area of Effect) attacks like the Earthquake ball or lasers since Intelligence scales that damage.
- Abilities: Most characters have a unique skill. For example, one character has balls that naturally phase through enemies. If you’re playing them, don’t pick up an item that also makes your balls phase through enemies. It’s redundant and a waste of an item slot. Always think about the build that works with your character’s natural strengths.

A Cheesy Boss Fight Tip
Want a little head start on Ball x Pit bosses? There you go. If you’re using a character whose balls can phase through enemies, you can actually cheese the bosses a bit. As the boss is making its presence felt and before it starts attacking, just stand back and fire at it. Your phasing balls will pass right through and start doing damage before the fight even begins. You can see its health bar on the side isn’t quite full when the boss finally starts attacking you. Not sure if it’s intended but it’s one of those great little Ball x Pit tips.

Get Close to the Monsters
You don’t always have to stay in the backline like a scared little cat. Enemies clearly telegraph when they’re about to attack. You’ll hear a sound and see them shake a lot. Use this to your advantage. Don’t be afraid to run right up to them, spam some balls in their face, then just back off right before they swing. This strategy works wonders for getting in quick damage especially on bosses or tough enemies that get too close.

Stats and What They Mean
In this Ball x Pit tips article, we’re gonna talk about stats as well. They play a major role. You know you get stronger after every run. Win or lose doesn’t really matter. As your character gains XP and levels up the stats. But what do these stats mean? You can see them on the character select screen. Here’s a quick breakdown:
| Stat | Effect |
|---|---|
| Endurance | Shows how much HP you have. |
| Strength | General damage for your attacks. |
| Leadership | Affects how many of those little baby balls you can have. |
| Speed | Makes your balls fly faster. |
| Dexterity | Improves your critical hit chance. |
| Intelligence | This is your Area of Effect (AOE) damage. This is the stat for things like lasers and the Earthquake ball. |

Town Building
When you’re back at your town, you’ll be using blueprints and resources like wheat and lumber to build it out. Here’s a little Ball x Pit building guide. Your wheat, lumber, stone refresh in real time. You don’t have to keep playing. You can literally close the game. Maybe go play another game and come back to a fully restocked lumber yard or wheat field.
However, when you upgrade a building then harvest, be prepared to construct it all over again. It’s best to upgrade your buildings first and then do your harvest so you don’t have a key building out of commission when you need it.

That’s all for this Ball x Pit tips. Hopefully, these help you get even further into the pit.
