Where winds meet Obtain Three Mistveil Forest Cures
You can start The Ephemeral Blight quest in Where Winds Meet by exploring Mistveil Forest, located east of Kaifeng City. As you go deeper, you will be hit by the venomous Dawn-to-Dusk mist. The first time it affects you, a cutscene will play where an NPC named Zhai Xu rescues you and takes you to his house on the edge of Mistveil Forest.
After waking up, take the jade pendant and talk to Zhai Xu about it. Use Wind Sense to investigate the house and look for clues. You will find two books on the table. Interact with them and Zhai Xu will warn you not to meddle.

Use Meridian Touch on the chime hanging in the window above the table to distract Zhai Xu. When Zhai Xu steps outside, take the two books: Mistveil Forest Cure: Wishing Cove and Thousand-Wish Amendment. Then, say goodbye to Zhai Xu and leave Wishing Cove.
Once you are outside, open your Bag (B) and read the Thousand-Wish Amendment book under Quest Items. You will learn that to clear the fog covering Mistveil Forest, you need to collect three cures. The first cure is the book you got from Wishing Cove and the other two still need to be found.

Hollow Abode Where Winds Meet
The Hollow Abode Cure is located southwest of Mistveil Forest, inside the Soulshade Umbrella Post Station. This is a Skill Theft dungeon where you can unlock the Soulshade Umbrella weapon. But you do not need to complete the dungeon to get the Hollow Abode cure. Follow these steps.
- Enter the post station’s main courtyard.
- Use Wind Sense (V) to see enemy lines of sight and sneak up to the main house by climbing the vines to the second story.
- Enter the building through the open window and turn right to find a staircase going down.
- Wait for the guard on the stairs to turn around. Then quickly approach and use Touch of Death to eliminate him.
- Turn around and you will find the Hollow Abode Mistveil Cure on the table lit by green candles.
Once you collect it, the quest objective is complete. You can either explore deeper to claim the Soulshade Umbrella by interacting with the coffin behind you or leave the way you came.
Aureate Pavilion Where Winds Meet
The Aureate Pavilion is located north of Mistveil Forest in Where Winds Meet, east of the Teleporter. It is an Outpost that should already appear on your map with a red icon.
- Circle around Mistveil Forest to reach the Aureate Pavilion.
- The cure is inside the main hut at the center of the outpost, behind a large group of enemies around the fire.
- You can either fight the enemies or sneak past them to enter the hut.
- Inside, you will find the Aureate Pavilion Mistveil Forest Cure next to a mummified body lying on a table.
You do not need to complete the outpost encounter or spend any Energy to collect the cure.
How to Lift the Curse in Where Winds Meet
After collecting all three Mistveil Forest Cures, return to Zhai Xu at Wishing Cove. He will start preparing an antidote for the toxin. Wait two in-game days for him to finish the cure.
Then, go back to Wishing Cove and check the table for a note. it says that Zhai Xu has left for the northern wasteland of Mistveil Forest.
Follow the quest marker to meet Zhai Xu and collect the complete Mistveil Forest Cure. As you move deeper into the forest, stay near the fires to protect yourself from the Dawn-to-Dusk poison.
Defeat the guards at Aureate Pavilion and clear the path ahead by destroying the Dawn-to-Dusk blooms at the entrance with Fire Arrows. Investigate the area around the large tree with hanging corpses, then destroy the three Dawn-to-Dusk blooms there.
After defeating the sleeping puppets, pick up the jade pendant lying on the ground.
Follow the Silver Needle Sect shadow figure to reach the next quest area. Continue through the dungeon until you reach a dead end. Check the table near the mummified corpse to find Sun Buqi’s Notes.
The Ephemeral Blight Quest Clues
In this part, Combine the clues in the following order:

Interact with the unusual Sleeping Puppet (Silver Needle Doctor) near the mummy and it will lead you to the source of the Dawn-to-Dusk mist. Destroy the three Dawn-to-Dusk blooms in the cavern to resolve the issue. Then return to Wishing Cove and speak with Zhai Xu to complete the quest and claim your rewards.
